Sagamore Hill was the home of Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the US from 1885 until his death in 1919. During his time in office, Sagamore HIll was known as the "Summer White House."
This is an Advanced Moderate ride. You must be capable of maintaining 14+ mph on flat terrain.
This is a hilly ride that includes grades that exceed 10% at some points on some climbs. Hills will be taken at your own pace and we will regroup at the top. The reward is riding through some beautiful hamlets on Nassau County's North Shore.
Start Location: Westbury LIRR station. If coming by LIRR, there is a train that arrives at 9:30.
We will NOT be stopping to buy lunch. Please bring your own lunch. We will picnic on Sagamore Hill.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waited list folks can move up and take the slot. All riders should come equipped with a mask, hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube, sunscreen, snacks and a bike in good condition, as well as being familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
