Cherry Blossom Ride 2021
This is the annual Cherry Blossom ride, initiated in the 1970s by Irv Weisman, and done every year to enjoy the increasing number of blossoms in Branch Brook Park, Newark and Belleville, NJ. This park has more cherry trees than in Washington, DC and they add more every year. This ride is timed to the peak of the first wave of blossoms. Bring your camera. We will enjoy the blossoms for a while then head off for Montclair, having a picnic in a park. Susan and Maggie will take turns leading.
The rider limit for this ride is 12 plus the two leaders. Please register to ride, and unregister if you change your mind. We'll send meeting and other instructions. Please bring your snacks, lunch and water as we won't plan to stop to collect food. All riders should come equipped with a mask, hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube, sunscreen, snacks and a bike in good condition.
Cancellation conditions: 50% chance of precipitation or radar showing imminent or predicted precipitation during the ride. High wind warning.
