Visiting Some of New York's Most Beautiful Post Offices
Sunday, November 22, 2020 - 10:00

With the recent controversy about the Post Office's ability to handle voting by mail, it piqued my interest in the history of our post office buildings.  New York is home to many beautiful, historic post offices, many built as part of the federal relief effort during the Great Depression in the 1930s. Distinguished by their impressive archictectural design, we are going to visit six post offices in three boroughs that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  This is a 27 mile ride that starts in Brooklyn in the vicinity of Prospect Park.

For lunch, we will picnic in Bryant Park.  You can bring your own food or pick up a sandwich at a nearby Panera Bread.

REMEMBER:  Rides during the Pandemic are limited to a specific number of riders.  Everyone else gets wait-listed.  Important:  You must unregister and email the ride leader if you no longer can make the ride.  Not withdrawing from the ride listing prevents others on the wait-list from participating.  Failure to notify the ride leader in advance that you can't make the ride can result in being restricted from signing up for rides in the future.
