A South Brooklyn Happy-Face Ride
This easy ride in South Brooklyn will visit Prospect Park, Sunset Park, Leif Ericson Park, a lovely waterfront greenway that glides under the Verrazzano Bridge, Coney Island, and the legendary Ocean Parkway. Distance is 21 miles, pace is 10 mph, and there are no hills except for a moderate climb at the end. If you complain there's not enough exercise you can go back and ride it again.
Meeting place will be in the vicinity of Prospect Park. Exact start location and GPS cue sheet will be provided to registered riders. Lunch pick-up will be at Nathan's or you can bring your own. We're not allowed to ride on the boardwalk but we will walk our bikes there and have lunch overlooking the beach and water.
Helmets are required on all 5BBC rides. Bring a spare tube. We're still in a pandemic so wear a face covering and keep social distance.
Ride could be canceled for bad weather; check your email before heading out.
Rides during the current pandemic are limited to 12 riders + 2 leaders. Everyone else gets wait-listed. If you're on the wait list, you will get an email when a slot opens. (Please note that the club website does not update your wait list status.) Important: you must remove yourself from the list (or email the ride leader firstname.lastname@example.org) if you will not be riding. Failure to follow this instruction could get you restricted from signing up in the future.
