Over the River and Through the Streets
[Rain on the day caused this ride to be rescheduled]
We may not have a big event planned for Thanksgiving this year, but we can still have an adventure. Join us for a ride to build up your appetite, no matter how you plan to celebrate.
Meet us for an action-packed journey through close in Queens with a bunch of Bridges. The first crossing will be the 59th Street Bridge (bridge #1: short rendition of Feelin' Groovy) followed by a turn into Roosevelt Island (bridge #2). After an island loop (pictures of the tram without the bridge in the way), we move on. We'll take a spin around the Wellington Mural Project. We'll follow up by climbing (yes, there are lots of stairs) up to the RFK Bridge (bridge #3). After a breathtaking, downhill entry into Randall's Island, we'll circle around to to the Ward's Island Bridge (bridge #4) back into Manhattan.
Rides during the current pandemic are limited to 8 riders + 2 leaders. Everyone else will be wait-listed.
Email notifications for active riders will be sent with the exact start location, route and cue sheet.
Helmets are required on all 5BBC rides. Bring a spare tube. We're still in a pandemic so wear a face covering and keep social distance.
Ride may be canceled for inclement weather; check your email before heading out.
If you're on the wait list, you will get an email when a slot opens (Please note: the club website does not update your wait list status).
Important: Please remove yourself from the list (or email the ride leader firstname.lastname@example.org) if you cannot join the ride, so another member can attend. Please be courteous and don’t wait until the last minute
Note: All club rules apply. Rides are open to members only.
