It's a Bird - It's a Plane!
Let's spring into spring by riding down to Sheepshead Bay then onto the greenway. Our adventure begins at Floyd Bennett Field where old planes are being restored, as we take a tour of Hangar B & see some WWII aircrafts. You'll feel like you went back in time to the 1940's. Hangar B was built in 1941 by the US Navy and used primarily for seaplanes. The aircraft restoration efforts are the work of the Historic Aircraft Restoration Project or HARP, created & staffed by volunteers who are retired aviation mechanics. This is a tour not to be missed!
Lunch will be at nearby neighborhood of Marine Park with a great pizza place (Knapp St Pizza) and deli on the same block. Then we will view the beautiful property of the historic Lott House before we ride back to Prospect Park.
Please make sure your bike is tuned up for some good spring riding.
