This deliberate Testudinata-like short road ride will introduce/re-introduce familiar surroundings from the NJ side of the George Washington Bridge to Palisades Interstate Park and parts in between, to Big Apple cyclists like ourselves may take for granted. Though techically a "Happy Face" ride, we will emphasize continuous stretches of cycling. We will briefly stop at prospective rest areas, bike shops and one surprise spot hardly visited by cyclists and non-cyclists alike. Lunch will be at the Brownstone Pancake Factory (formerly known as the Englewood Cliffs Diner). Visit http://www.brownstonepancakefactory.com/ for menu and futher info. This ride is mostly flat, with instances of hilly stretches. PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Disregard the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal start point:---we will NOT BE THERE. HERE'S THE FINE PRINT: This approximately 20 mile (32 kilometer) ride will MEET/START at the New Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge and will END at the New York City side of the George Washington Bridge. Please arrive timely for the start. Make sure your bicycle is in good working order. We will emphasize SINGLE-FILE cycling, not PACELINING. Please bring a lock and $ for lunch. Caveat emptor--ultrafast and wanna-be ultrafast plus moderate riders: please adjust your pace to this ride and things will be alright. 5BBC leaders: Alfredo Garcia and Janice Fortune.
