March 16, 2008: McGoldrick Park, Greenpoint Brooklyn - Plaque reads, "Erected by the People of New York State to Commemorate the Battle of the Monitor and Merrimac March 9th, 1862. And in Memory of the Men of the Monitor and its Designer John Ericsson"

March 15, 2008: They claim that "the world's greatest pancakes" are in Bayonne? Phooey! At the Northvale Diner, the pancakes are fluffy on the inside, crisp on the outside, and filled with strawberries, almonds, or your choice of several other "toppings" or combinations.
