Breaking news: Participant maximum has been increased to 12 riders! The "Complete" (participant) and "Wait list" lists on the right side of this page might not be accurate. We will email participants with meet-up location and GPS/cue sheet 1 week before the ride.

This Mario Cuomo Bridge ride is also being offered on Friday 4/23. You are not permitted to participate in both rides. You can wait-list for both but if a slot opens on one you must delist from the other.

In June of 2020 the shared use path on the Mario Cuomo Bridge opened for cyclists and pedestrians. This path is not as wide as it should have been and it can get crowded. However, the perfect is the enemy of the good, and now being able to go between Westchester and Rockland Counties without a motor vehicle is good. In fact, it's a game changer for planning our Westchester and Rockland rides. Like this one.

The 5BBC spring training series continues with a great circle ride over the Mario Cuomo Bridge. We will take the Putnam, South County, North County, and Tarrytown Lakes greenways into Tarrytown, eat lunch on the Hudson waterfront in view of the bridge, pedal over the bridge, and return via trails and roads in Rockland and Bergen Counties. The ride includes about 5 miles of trail that is unpaved but road bike-friendly.

*** If the South County Trailway is closed then our outbound route will be via Warburton Ave and Broadway. Lunch venue and return route will be unchanged.

Participation is limited to 12 riders. Everyone else gets wait-listed. The club website may not update your wait list status but you will get an email when a slot opens.

Ride starts in the vicinity of Van Cortlandt Park and ends in Riverside Park. Exact start location and GPS/cue sheet will be emailed to registered participants.

Check your email before setting out. Any changes will be emailed to registered participants by 7:30 AM on ride day.

Please use the rest room at the ride start. The first rest room stop is at mile 14.

Lunch is outdoors in Tarrytown RiverWalk Park. Bring your own or food can be purchased at the first rest stop.

Important: You must remove yourself from the list (and email the ride leader joymesser@gmail.com) if you will not be riding. Failure to follow this instruction could get you restricted from signing up in the future.

Other stuff: Helmets are required on all 5BBC rides. Carry a spare tube and water. We're still in a pandemic so wear a face covering and keep social distance.
