Highland Park Ridgewood Reservoir/Forest Park
RIDE HAS BEEN MOVED TO MONDAY MONDAY MLK, JAN 18th. Join us as we ride to scenic Highland Park to the Ridgewood Reservoir and to Forest Park with breath taking scenic views at the high elevation. The Ridgewood Reservoir was built in 1856, and was used for the Brooklyn/Queens water supply for over 100 years. It was decommissioned in 1959 and ceased operations in 1990. At it's peak it held over 154 million gallons of water. We will head to Forest Park, passing the bandshell and carousel and ride through the park. We will have a lunch stop and eat in the park.
You must be comfortable riding on city street and there are some hills. You must be able to maintain a speed of 12 mph on the greenways.
Make sure your bike is in good working order. Please bring your helmet, mask, spare tube and hydration and please dress properly for the weather.
We will be starting near Prospect Park. Please check website for weather update. RIDE HAS BEEN MOVED TO MONDAY MLK JAN 18th
