This is a pretty simple ride. The start point is in front of Larry's Freewheeling, on W 110th St between CPW and Manhattan Ave. From there we head up to the Bronx. We will get on the Bronx River Greenway for a little bit. We will pass through Mount Vernon and New Rochelle. In New Rochelle we will pick up the East Coast Greenway which we stay on for most of the way to Stamford. We go to Stamford and take the train home. Lots and lots of little hills but no killer ones. Due to the hills expect a slow overall pace. Many bailout points available. The planned lunch stop is in Stamford.
We will roughly follow this route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19431442
After lunch the more adventurous among us might decide to continue a few more stops up the line before returning home.
Bring the usual: $ for train ticket, MTA bike pass, spare tubes, pump, etc. Lights strongly recommended.
First choice for lunch stop: Navaratna
If you live in the Bronx and want to meet us along the way contact the leaders via the form below.
