Pupusas in The Bronx
What's the sense of living in NYC if you do not sample food from different cultures? Tucked under the El on Westchester Avenue is the amazing Pupuseria Salvadoreña, which we stumbled upon during a night ride in The Bronx. After delicious food and horchata we knew that this was destined for a ride. This ride takes us from Central Park, through Randall's Island and then onto the mainland as we visit scenic Concrete Plant Park, Soundview Park, Classon Point and Pugsley Creek Park. After 16 miles of riding, we are rewarded with delicious fresh pupusas. On the way back, we stop at The Bronx's very own waterfall, before returning to Central Park across the Madison Avenue Bridge.
While this is a Happy Face Ride, you must be able to keep at least a 10-12 MPH pace on the flats - and this ride is mostly flat [hear that Maureen]. Bring the standard things you take on a ride: spare tubes, lock, water, snacks and a spirit of adventure. Let's Ride !
