Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Ride
Amazing….and it gets better each year! You’re still in the big city but worlds away. It’s one of the most un-laborious things you can do on Labor Day. Birds singing, turtles tanning, raccoons running, Ospreys praying(?) and people pausing just to clear their heads. Forget having to pay the shrink. This therapy is free! Bring binoculars, telescopes, bird books or just yourself along with a lock and money for a picnic lunch at this precious wildlife refuge and nature trail. Note: Sunscreen and sun hat are strongly suggested. Identify birds by pre-downloading the birding App on your smartphone Merlin Bird ID by Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Rain at start cancels. Leaders: Manny Sanudo and Richard Sanford Approximately 25 miles round trip.
