Port Jervis via Warwick and Neversink
Join us for a hilly century+ to Port Jervis! Fun stops along the way include ice cream at Bellevale Creamery, lunch at Pioneer Farm in with our friend Kate in Warwick, and the stunning overlook at Elks-Brox Park three miles before the finish. There are ten significant climbs on this ride, with a total of 10,082 feet of vertical gain.
Ride with GPS route (subject to change until Friday night) is here:
Refreshment stops will be brief but plentiful, at the 22, 42, 67, 74 (lunch, not as brief), and 90 mile-marks.
We expect to catch the 5:27 train back from Port Jervis (#0080) arriving at Penn Station at 7:48.
Please bring pocket food, two water bottles, two spare tubes and air supply, electronic naviation or handlebar fastener for cue sheet, a cord for securing your bike on the train, sunscreen, and money for food and NJ transit home.
As this is a quick spin, we will ride as a group and there will be no point-drop-sweep. We will keep to the advertised 19 MPH pace on the flats and try to maintain a consistent effort on the climbs, pausing at the top of the significant climbs to regroup. The group will stop to support members with minor mechanicals or emergencies, but those bailing due to fatigue or major mechanicals should be prepared to proceed independently. There are bail options ~5 miles from the route at the 56 and 92 mile marks (Tuxedo and Middletown).
Feel free to write with questions beforehand!
