A Festival, a Canal, a Pizza, and a Beer
Here's the itinerary for Saturday:
* Arrive 9 AM (new time: we take the 7:02 AM from GC). Farmington Canal Rail Trail, with New Haven's bicycle advocacy group, Elm City Cyclists, as our tour guide, to Cheshire and learn about plans to connect the former rail trail all the way to Northampton, MA. We'll visit historic Locks 12 and 14 before returning to New Haven. A representative of ECG [East Coast Greenway] will lead the ride and provide information and background on the trail. I'll contact Elm City to let them know a group will be arriving a little after 9 AM.
*12 Noon. Back in New Haven at noon for lunch @ Claire's CornerCopia.
* 2 PM Back in the saddle for another bike tour of New Haven, again, by our folks at Elm City: This time to discover bioswales, rain gardens and other green infrastructure in New Haven.
* 5 PM back on the Green, and then "Beer and Pizza at Bar." (Some may want to catch the 5:46p train back to New York.)
* 6-9:30 PM on the Green: a free concert with Elan Trotman, Rohn Lawrence, and The Rahsaan Langley Project. We'll probably arrive later, around 7:30, after pizza and a few beers. And then quick spin over to Union Station for the 9:46 to New York.
Meet up at GCT for the 7:02AM to New Haven. Rain, of course, cancels
