A Sunday Kinda Ride (on Saturday)
Roll out of bed and over to Grand Army Plaza for the start of a leisurely day of riding to places meant for week-end visits. First, enjoy a snack at Williamsburg’s Smorgasburg (www.brooklynflea.com/markets/smorgasburg) before we head over to Long Island City to catch a ferry across the East River to midtown. After a few miles down the East Side bike path, we'll ferry to Governors Island, which Is hosting the NYC Unicycle Festival (http://nycunifest.com). Lunch will be at the Island’s food court, which offers many different cuisines and al fresco dining. Afterwards, explore the many exhibits and activities the Island has to offer (ready to attempt a one-wheeler?). The ride ends on GI, with the option of taking the Brooklyn or Manhattan-bound ferries to return home. Bring water, stuff to fix a flat (just in case) and $$ for food and the ferries [$7 + $2 (seniors $1)]. Rain at start cancels.
