NJ Beach Bums

Saturday, August 16, 2014 - 07:45

Beach Bums in New Jersey? Well, for starters, it's called the Jersey Shore over here in these parts, and the handle by which we travel is the NJ Shore Slackers. So, yeah, whether you enjoy bumming on beaches or slithering along the shore, you can still join us as we head due south on the 7:52AM North Jersey Coast from New York Penn Station to Bay Head, with bikes, for some Jersey-style carney, Surf Tacos, long, long stretches of very flat, barrier tar-top two-lane roads and equally longish (and flat) boardwalks. (Which means no tree cover and lots of sun, so bring along the sun block). All that slacking and eating, though, doesn't mean we'll be whistling Dixie as this'll be moderate pace and limited to 12 riders, so RSVP and sign up online. Round trip $30; senior $14. Mileage to be determined. (Or as one of our ride leaders says, it's all good.)

Looks to be sunny and in the 80s.
